Sad day leads to a roadtrip

Sadly, a close friend of the family passed away last night, so we are off to Melbourne later in the week for his funeral.
RIP Pete.
Love to Li, Mark and Luke.

Time flies

But have I been having fun? Yes, pretty much. The last week and a bit have been busy, but all in all good.

Last week my parents and in-laws came to visit for a few days to celebrate Bailey's 2nd birthday. I can't believe that the kid is two!!!! I no longer have any babies in my house. Sad, but I am looking forward to all of the new happenings that will bring with it.

Other than that, not much going on. We've had some really nice weather of late, hitting the low to mid-20s most days. Which means that the kids have spent a lot of time playing outside together (and staying out of my hair), but which means sand being bought through the house. And anyone who knows me knows that I hate sand! But I'm surviving. Hehe.

Nothing much else to report. Bailey was spoilt rotten. Ardyn is loving Kindy. Cal still isn't working (nor am I). We are enjoying the time together as a family and making the most of it while we can.

You know I'm sure that during the week I had more things that I was going to write. I KNOW that I have said to myself "I should Blog about that", and then get distracted and don't. The story of my Blogging life. Oh well. Ha!

Edited to add: Oh I'm forgetful! I went to the Stitches and Craft Show last Sunday and got filled with creative inspiration!! This hasn't happened to me for a long time, so it was very exciting. I am determined to inject a bit of creativity in my everyday life.

As well as that I started reading a couple of design and Indie Artist Blogs, and Blog-hopped off them, and Blog-hopped off them (you know how it goes) and have a whole new area of creativity that I am now following. Just another thing to do, but it makes me happy. And if I'm happy, my family is happy.

Yay!!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Lazy Sunday

So it's Sunday and it's a BEAUTIFUL day!! And what am I doing?? I'm sitting at the kitchen bench, in my PJs, reading through art and design Blogs - and getting very inspired I don't mind telling you. And only a teensy bit guilty for not enjoying the sun.

There are some wonderful indie artists out there!! And right in our own backyard. I encourage you to go and check some out at Indie Art & Design.

If I could ask one thing today it would be to ask you to attempt to support handmade. I know that sometimes it's just not possible, but if you can, please try to.

Have a lovely Sunday.

My new home

I want to Blog. I think that it's more of a need for me to keep some sort of record of our lives than putting it out there for all to see. But if anyone wants to see what we're up to (especially our family and friends who are far away), at least they can.

I decided to end my old Blog, and start fresh. No more "Serial Nagger". It's me. I am Kirst. Not mum, not 'dear', but Kirst. Me.

I think that I need to get my own identity back a little and look after me a lot. So I am making the commitment to myself to Blog/Journal, to be creative and to share my experiences.

If you would like to join me, welcome.
Kirst xx
