I love Australia Day. I am pretty patriotic - I love my country. We are so lucky to live in the BEST country in the world. I shed a tear whenever I hear our National Anthem - which was a bit of a problem when I was reffing. Not a great look to wipe a tear away while you blow your whistle to start eh game - so professional. But I know I wasn't the only one.
What I do miss though is spending the day with friends, hanging around the barbie, downing a few beers. The last couple of years we have spent it driving 8 hours back from Bundalong, which isn't nice - although spending the whole weekend with friends is better than one day.
I missed Bundalong this year, as I had to work yesterday. Cal went with the girls, so while they are driving home today, I have spent the day making the house a beautiful clean and organised home.
I'm almost done. So proud of myself.
I can't wait for them to be back. Only a few hours to go.
Hopefully back later with some photos. (I told you I'm getting organised)

I suck!!!
My promises are apparently worth nothing. I have been so busy, that I haven't had much of a chance to even scratch myself. And the time that I do have I spend not updating my Blog. :( That has to change.
I haven't updated with the big stuff for ages, so I'll start with the little recent stuff, and hopefully I'll get to the big stuff down the track - but not too soon down the track.
I saw Avatar today. What a movie!!!! I can understand what all the fuss is about now. It's amazing. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Remember to go to the loo before hand, as it is very long, but well worth it. If they edited it down, or made it into two movies, it just wouldn't be the same movie.
It was lovely to spend some time today just shopping and going to the movies. Cal and the kids have gone to Bundalong for the usual Australia Day waterskiing weekend, but I couldn't go as I have to work on Monday, and they aren't coming back until Tuesday. Work......have I Blogged about that yet? Later for that one.
So they left this morning and even though the house needed a good clean, I decided to put that off until tomorrow as the tempertaure was due to get to 40 degrees. I feel for the folks out in the West. (How did you go Lis??) So I decided to cruise down to Rhodes and make a visit to Ikea. Airconditioning and Scandanavian design. A sure winner.
I also did a little bit of 'little girl' shopping for my girls and upcoming birthdays, and a couple of basic tops for me. Then it was on to the shoes..........yay for shoe shopping!!!! My work shoes died yesterday, so I need to get myself a pair of practical flats (preferably cute Mary Janes).
I headed over the Chatswood for these, and found out that Myer were having 25% off most of the footwear department. I found the PERFECT pair that fell into the 25% off sale, and wouldn't you know it, they didn't have them in my size. Typical. But what they DID have in my size were the cutest pair of Mary Jane court shoes that were very reasonably priced (verging on cheap), so they came home with me instead. I will have to pop over to the Mall tomorrow to see if Myer there has my shoes, and if not, up to Hornsby (with a visit to Catchy Crafts - hehe).
Then Avatar. What a nice day to just do what I want when I wanted.
I came home for a nice dinner and a couple of glasses of wine, and now I'm updating here, and then going to start a little clean out. While I'm home by myself I plan on getting done all those crappy little jobs that you never get around to doing, like cleaning out the filing cabinet and pantry, and sorting through the kids toys and books. It's a plan, but like a lot of my plans lately, I don't know how much of it will get done.
Well I can hope.
So yay! I updated. I will do more soon. I'm determined to get myself organised. Lots of changes have been going on around here, and there are more to come.
For now, enjoy your Saturday night. I'm off to pour myself another wine, put on a movie and sort through the filing cabinet.

Horoscopes
I don't know if I believe in the Horoscopes that you read in the paper, but I do tend to believe in my astrological chart. Maybe it's because mine seems to be so spot on. Daily ones always seem to say different things, but the one that I tend to go to says this for me today:
Trust your instincts when it comes to money or love matters - even if you don't particularly consider yourself to be especially "psychic", your chart currently suggests you're actually quite likely to be blessed with flashes of intuition today and over the next few days. One of the ways that this newfound ability of yours have be extra useful is in terms of over-riding other peoples' fears. If you sense that everything's going to be alright, make sure you don't buy into anyone else's panic. Do what you can bolster their belief.
I do tend to have flashes of intuition. I don't call it "psychic". That all seems to hocus-pocus for me. But lately my intuition has been pretty spot on.
Over the last few days my life in the love and money areas has been going spastic, so I'm hoping that somewhere today I'll get some sort of answer with regards to the outcome. I am scared though that my intuition will not sense that everything's going to be okay. Then what do I do????
Deal with it one day at a time I guess.

Time
Time is a funny thing. We never have enough of it, and when we do have it, we don't know what to do with it. Well, that's true for me anyway.
A year can go by so quickly.
I usually embrace change, and am very flexible with it, but for some reason this isn't sitting well with me. Maybe it's the fact that I won't be the kids' primary care giver? Maybe I just love being a Stay At Home Mum? Maybe I just don't want to work (lazy bi-atch)? Maybe a bit of everything?????? And with Ardyn off to school in 2 months.......well time certainly has flown.
I am very thankful to my friends who have been available to lend an ear (and a shoulder at this time). I feel like I am taking them for granted, and being quite selfish, and for that I make a public apology. Sorry, and thank you.
I promise that I will update again soon with happier stuff. We have had some wonderful visitors recently, and I have been able to get a little bit scrappy, and I have many photos to share. SO I will try to post more about that tomorrow.
Love and hugs to all.

A year can go by so quickly.
- A year ago we were in Noosa with the Virgona's enjoying our annual holiday.
- A year ago we were getting the shit scared out of us by interrupting someone breaking into the house while on our holiday. That was a very fast end to the 'relaxing' part of the holiday.
- A year ago Sophie told me that my instincts were right and she was having a little girl.
- A year ago I was thinking about what I had to do when I got home from Noosa to organise a visit from the in-laws, Ardyn's concert and her birthday......as well as Christmas.
- We have no jobs, so no Noosa.
- Sophie's beautiful baby girl is learning to crawl.
- I am thinking about what needs to be organised for a visit from the in-laws, Ardyn's concert and her birthday.......as well as Christmas :)
- I am stressing about having to go back to work on Monday for the first time in over 5 years.

After my brief interruption
I will get back to updating my blog momentarily. Momentarily may be a coupla days though.
Since the broadband has got back to speed, I have had trouble getting near the desktop to clear out my emails. I subscribe to so many newsletters and while the speed was slow they couldn't load up all their pretty pictures. So they are sitting in my Inbox waiting to be read. And I haven't' set up my email on the laptop, so this is the only computer that I can access them on.
Maybe that's what I can do on this rainy dreary Sunday - reorganise the computers like I've been meaning to.
I want to move the desktop into the family room so that we can see what the kids are doing on the computer. And we have two laptops, so I will set one up for me, and one for Cal. I just have to get my a into g and do it. Not that it's a hard task, I'm just lazy. Hehe.
But alas, in my current laziness I am still in my PJs, about to make myself another cuppa and contemplate a shower sometime in the next couple of hours. Maybe. :)
I just made a little treasure hunt for the kids, and they had fun for 5 minutes haring about the house to find the next clue. Now Arydn wants another one, and because I am refusing, she is taking it upon herself to make one herself. This should be interesting, but if she does it - good on her!!!!
Anyway, this was meant to be a quick update to say that I'll be back later. But I can't seem to stop typing. There's always something else to share. So I'll just force myself to stop.........

Don't you just hate......
when you exceed your monthly download limit before the month is out?
I exceeded mine last Wednesday, and my billing day isn't until this coming Wednesday. Luckily I don't lose access, it just gets slowed right down. So we are basically on dial up speed at the moment.
Two days to go.
So this update will be quick, and will be text only. Will post photos and stuff on Wednesday or Thursday.
It's Melbourne Cup day tomorrow, and for the first time EVER, I almost forgot about it.
Living in Sydney there is no Spring Carnival hype. No BBQs planned. No 'long' weekends away.
For the last few years we have headed away water skiing with friends over this weekend. Prior to that it was camping with the same friends. And prior to that (and that's now going back at least 12 years) there was always a BBQ to go to.
This year - nothing. Nada. Just another Tuesday.
But over this last weekend our good friend Lyndon ran the Noosa Triathlon for the first time, and we are VERY proud of him. He is happy with his result. He did a great job. Now he's trying to convince Cal that he needs to get involved in the Tri Series'. I'm sure that he would, except the entry fees and then the travel expenses are a bit high for a family with no income. Hehe.
One day maybe.
But it's a double edged sword. If he has a job and we can afford it, he's got no time to train properly.
Oops! I'm blabbering now. Sorry.
So I'll finish up with what I'm loving......Christmas magazines!!!!!
I love Real Living Mag at the best of times, but I truly madly deeply love their Christmas issue. And I never buy Better Homes & Garden Magazine, but of course I do for their Christmas issue. Who wouldn't???? Well, I'm sure that many people wouldn't, but I'm all over it!!!
After my cleaning today, I'm going to sit down with a well-earned cuppa and my Christmas mags and just disappear into a world of beautifully decorated homes, and gorgeous food, and inspiring gifts.
Enjoy your Monday.
